Questions we are often asked
Can I book a large table online?
The form takes tables of up to ten. Beyond that, or for the lounge upstairs, send a group enquiry instead — larger tables eat from a set menu and need a little more planning.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No deposit is needed for a standard table. Deposits apply only to group bookings and private events.
What happens if I am running late, or need to cancel?
We hold a confirmed table for 15 minutes past the booking time before releasing it. If plans change, 48 hours' notice lets us offer the table to someone else.
Can I walk in without a booking?
Always welcome, first come first served, subject to availability. Booking ahead is simply the surest way to get the hour you want, and weekend evenings go first.
Can you cater for allergies and dietary requirements?
Tell us when you book, not when you order. We work around nut-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, shellfish-free and vegetarian requirements, but the kitchen needs notice to do it safely. Outside alcohol is not permitted — the bar and the wine list are part of the evening.
Can I bring young children?
Families are welcome, though Mama San is not set up for very young children: there are no highchairs, no children's menu and no room for strollers. For older children we ask that you keep the comfort of nearby tables in mind.

Bookings of 10 to 30 guests are arranged through Group Dining, and for more than 30 guests we recommend taking the whole venue. No deposit is needed for a standard table. How long is a dining sitting at Mama San?
Each booking is allocated a 90-minute dining window. Tables are held for 15 minutes past the reservation time.
What is the dress code at Mama San?
Smart-casual dress is required. BYO alcohol is not permitted. We do not have highchairs or a children's menu.
What are Mama San's opening hours?
All-day dining, 12:00pm to 10:30pm, seven days a week. The lunch menu is served until 5pm and the dinner menu from 5.30pm. The Mama San Lounge is open nightly upstairs.
